For this particular poster, I wanted to take a very different approach. This one is, by far, the most comedic of all my Fallout 3 posters but it still retains that dark humour rather than stepping into hokey slapstick humour. Retaining the typical retro-futuristic style of the in-game propaganda art, I wanted to create something that would be used by Vault Tec themselves to convince people to give up their lives, and money, for a life inside one of their vaults.
The tagline for this poster is "Be Smart! Be Safe!" with the addendum of "Enjoy Vault Life" with Vault Boy giving a rather patronising "double guns" wink to the viewer. As part of the enticement to join the vault, the potential customer is greeted by a set of guarantee check boxes along with the disclaimer at the bottom...
"The above features are provided as examples only. Vault-Tec Industries cannoyt guarantee that you or your family will be safe within one of our Vault facilities and offer no warranty or insurance for the wellbeing of any individual or family unit therein."
